EEK!!!

January is a great time for reflection. Yes, the new year is already in full swing, others have already made resolutions and time is swiftly moving on. But it’s during this time you really think, not just about the year ahead, but also the year that just came to close. We are incredibly grateful for many things that came about in 2017.

We launched Come Together with Kindness in August in hopes of spreading kindness and doing our part to show kids that negative and hurtful behaviors are anything but cool. In just four months we managed to share 200 silicone bracelets with several kiddos and about 40 of our t-shirts went out across the US, one even went to Australia! We bumped Operation Good Deed Doer up a notch and shared about 500 random acts of kindness missions with kids across 10 states. Check out our new pictures from Operation Good Deed Doer here: https://www.cometogetherwithkindness.com/operation-good-deed-doer Don't see your picture? Send it to us! See your picture and don't want to? Let us know! :)

One of the most exciting things to happen in 2017 was the finalization of our medallion design. We are just weeks away from awarding our very first medallion! YAY!!!!

We also spent these past few months reworking our mission, goals and core values. We have already learned so much. We are also migrating away from the term, “bully.” Labeling isn’t good for anyone. Kids who need the most love ask for it in the most unloving ways. We know that kids who exhibit negative and hurtful behaviors are in negative and hurtful situations. Part of our Initiative focuses on helping those kids. The undesirable behaviors will only stop when the undesirable situations are addressed.

We also have a new project planned for each quarter! Our first quarter project will kick off in just a few weeks, so stay tuned!

Best of all, we have gotten to meet and work with some incredible people. We have watched our friends, both old and new, literally come together with kindness to help not only spread kindness, but also work through ideas while be so incredibly supportive that it was beyond humbling. If we had to pick one word to sum up 2017 it would be, “Inspired.” Our hearts have melted as we were told that we inspired others and, likewise, we have been inspired so many times over by so many of you. All I can think is, wow…isn’t this the way it is supposed to be? We lift each other. We inspire each other. We are not perfect, and we do not have to be to inspire and support one another. This reminds me of our plans for our spring campaign – Bee Kind, Bee You, Bee Happy! We’re so excited that is it hard not to jump ahead!

It seems so perfectly fitting as we talk about inspiration that we finally get to introduce you to one of those incredible people who has inspired us beyond measure. We are sooo excited about our plans for 2018 but we could not move forward without one very special person. Tomorrow we will unveil our medallion design and introduce our medallion designer! Watch your mailboxes first thing in the morning!

Eek! We can hardly wait!!!
